Mattawan Planning Commission completes routine business, hears council liaison update

The Village of Mattawan Planning Commission met Aug. 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The commission excused Commissioner Lamb (absent) after a motion by Chair Clint Fournier, supported by Commissioner Daniel. Commissioners then approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Commissioner Daniel, supported by Commissioner Stuut.
The commission approved the minutes of the May 21, 2025 meeting on a motion by Commissioner Stuut, supported by Commissioner Daniel. During the council liaison report, Commissioner Stuut summarized recent council matters including open seats on the council, a watermain project and paving updates, and a recently adopted chicken ordinance.
Clerk Jolie Storm-Artis told commissioners she will digitalize the Master Plan and distribute the document to planning commission members for input before the next meeting. No members of the public spoke during the limited public comment period. The meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m. following a motion by Chair Fournier, supported by Commissioner Stuut.
