Council approves two joint-utility poles on city property

The Marlborough City Council approved two separate petitions from Mass Electric and Verizon to install joint utility poles on city property during its June 8 meeting.
For Conquered Road, the proposal called for a 45-foot midspan pole labeled P7450 between existing poles 74 and 75 on city property approximately 370 feet northeast of the McNeel Circle intersection. Applicant Michael Frasier described the plan as in-line with existing poles; the council noted a communication from the city engineer with recommended conditions and voted to approve the petition with those conditions.
A second petition proposed a new 45-foot H1 midspan pole labeled P850 on Hosmer Street between pole 9 and pole 8 near Brierwood Lane. Applicant Rosa Apach presented the plan; the city engineer's recommended conditions were again referenced and the council approved the petition with those conditions.
Both petitions were approved on motions adopting the city engineer's conditions; the clerk recorded unanimous votes on each petition.
