Council approves Results Way mixed-use overlay ordinance in single evening

The Marlborough City Council approved a zoning amendment to create a Results Way mixed-use overlay district after the Urban Affairs and Housing Committee recommended amendments and the full council voted to suspend the usual multi-meeting reading schedule.
The committee report, delivered by Councilor Ducet, said the committee amended the original draft to change unit thresholds (striking 100 and inserting 400) and to remove age-restricted dwelling language while adding compliance conditions requiring site plan approval. The committee vote was unanimous, and council moved to suspend the rules to consider and approve the ordinance in a single evening.
Councilor Roby moved the recommendation of the committee; after motions to suspend and approve were made and seconded, the council voted to approve the ordinance on all required readings. The presiding officer recorded the passage and enrollment votes as approved.
The measure was advertised and advanced under the solicitor's communication (submitted by Jason Gfield), and the committee record noted participation by representatives of Greatland Realty Partners during committee review. The council did not record any dissent on the floor when the ordinance passed; the clerk recorded the vote as unanimous.
The ordinance will amend Chapter 650 to add the overlay district and implement the committee's conditions; the council indicated the item will be filed and enrolled per the standard process.
The council proceeded to other business after the ordinance vote; no immediate appeals or additional amendments were recorded at the meeting.
