Separately, the committee considered the proposed 2026–27 meeting calendar, which reduces some regularly scheduled meetings to “if needed” dates for parts of the year and preserves two meetings in budget‑sensitive months such as November and December. After debate about whether meeting frequency affects public engagement and recruitment for open committee seats, members voted to adopt the calendar and to change the regular start time from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. on a trial basis.
The committee also agreed to schedule a special meeting next week to finalize the superintendent’s evaluation and to cancel the meeting at the end of the month. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m., when members moved into executive session under M.G.L. chapter 38, section 21(a)(1) to discuss a personnel matter and did not return to open session.
