Electric and power plant staff report routine repairs and a scheduled winter capability run; board approves minutes

At the Feb. 24 meeting of the Malden Board of Public Works, Electric Distribution Coordinator Todd Jenkins reported that operations were routine and that the football sub breaker has been repaired.
Power Plant Superintendent Drew Miller told the board the plant is operating well and that staff will perform the last winter capability run the following morning; he also said he is "working through some minor issues with a pump on one of the cooling towers." Jenkins described the department status as "business as usual."
Earlier in the meeting Board Member Trinkler moved to approve the special called session minutes of Feb. 3, 2026; Board Member Stone seconded and the motion passed. The board also reviewed financial reports and had no questions.
No formal votes or additional actions on electric or power-plant repairs were recorded at the meeting; Miller said staff will continue troubleshooting the cooling-tower pump and will report back with any needed procurement or repair plans.
