Hobart redevelopment authority affirms planning commission fill-permit decision, approves tree removal and routine actions

A staff member explained that the authority may affirm, modify, or reverse the planning commission decision and said written notice of the decision would be provided to each person who filed an appeal. The motion to affirm the planning commission’s grant of the fill permit carried by voice vote.
In new business, the board approved a request to remove a locust tree in the public easement at 7798 Tanager Street. A resident who addressed the board said the property owners had consulted an arborist and agreed to remove the tree at their own expense and to plant a replacement. The Chair moved to grant the removal at the owners’ expense; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The authority also approved a refund for building-permit number 2657 (applicant listed as Windham Nation) and voted to release a performance bond for Lumen's Logistics contingent on the city receiving an appropriate maintenance bond. Staff advised that moving from a performance bond to a maintenance bond was acceptable for the development in question; the board's approval was recorded as contingent on the maintenance bond being in place.
On an unsafe-building matter concerning 300 West Old Bridge Road, staff reported that the property owner (identified as Mr. Cox in the record) had submitted subdivision paperwork to the planning commission and planned to remove the house upon approval. The authority set the unsafe-building item over to the April 15 meeting for further action.
The meeting concluded after standard claims and agenda approvals and an adjournment motion. Recorded votes on the items were taken by voice; no roll-call tallies with member names were entered in the record.
