Three Oaks board to consider AEP easement request; explores controlled burn for Schwark Drain

At the Dec. 1 meeting, the Village of Three Oaks Parks and Recreation Board discussed a new easement request from AEP for a power line that would affect park property; members said additional information will be gathered and discussed at a future meeting before any action is taken.
Chair Ira Johnson also reported the board is exploring the possibility of a controlled burn for the Schwark Drain area within Watkins Park as a land-management option. Board Secretary Larry Shawver was directed to contact Beth Denton at Pizzo’s to determine possible next steps and options to pursue.
No formal action was taken; the easement request and the controlled-burn exploration were recorded as items for follow-up and more detailed review at the board’s next meeting.
