Three Oaks parks board highlights 545.5 volunteer hours, rain-garden work and holiday lighting

Chair Ira Johnson reported that the final work on the Chamberlain Path rain garden was completed by nine Rotary volunteers who each worked two hours, and the board circulated an annual volunteer-time summary showing 545.5 hours contributed to Three Oaks parks in 2025. Johnson said the report will be used to support future grant requests by documenting the value of volunteer labor.
Board members confirmed holiday-season lighting has been installed at the gazebo, pavilion and park trees across village parks. Brian Overley reported that three pine trees were planted in Dewey Cannon Park as part of recent maintenance and beautification work.
The board treated the volunteer report and seasonal installations as informational items; no formal vote beyond routine approvals was required. More detailed maintenance scheduling and grant-planning steps will be coordinated with the village manager at upcoming meetings.
