Mendon Township Board approves routine business, sets Nov. 19 meeting date

The Mendon Township Board met Oct. 1, 2024, at Mendon Township Hall. Supervisor Kline called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and the board approved the meeting agenda, the Sept. 3, 2024 minutes, the treasurer’s report and the September bills.
The meeting was brief and procedural. Committee member Jim Hart moved to approve the agenda, and Committee member Leasa G. Mathews supported the motion; the minutes record the action as 'Motion carried.' No members of the public signed in for public comment, and the board cited its Feb. 13, 2018 public comment policy.
Committee member Leasa G. Mathews moved to approve the Sept. 3 minutes, supported by Jim Hart; the motion carried. Committee member Donna Cupp moved to approve the treasurer’s report, supported by Mathews; the report was approved. Committee member Jim Hart moved to approve the September bills, supported by Mathews; the bills were approved. The minutes show a final motion by Donna Cupp, supported by Mathews, to adjourn; the meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
Under old business the board recorded that Doug Kuhlman was absent and therefore did not present an update on the County Wide Master Plan; Supervisor Kline said he had called Village Manager Gary Kloosterman regarding the matter. The minutes also note discussion or planning toward a combined website for the village and township. The board noted that Dale Hutson was absent and moved the November meeting to Nov. 19 because of the election.
The board did not record roll-call vote tallies; each listed motion is recorded in the minutes as 'Motion carried.' The next regular meeting was scheduled for Nov. 19, 2024.
