Mendon Township hears $75,000 library proposal and plans for three-year phasing

Sandy Hiatt said the request was for "around $75,000" and that the library has some funds of its own to contribute.
Jan Griffith suggested the board consider phasing items over three years so the township could spread costs; Sandy Hiatt and library representatives said they have a three-year plan and want to collaborate with the township on timing and payment. Supervisor Kline acknowledged receipt of the proposal and said he needed to consult with Trustee Jan Griffith and others on how the township would pay for the work.
No formal township appropriation, vote on a funding amount, or contract was recorded at the meeting. The discussion closed with agreement to review proposals and financial options; the board did not adopt a funding motion on Sept. 3.
