Three Oaks parks board schedules special meeting to review grant applications for Lions Club Building conversion

Chair Ira Johnson called the Village of Three Oaks Parks and Recreation Board meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on March 2, and the board approved the meeting agenda and the Jan. 5 minutes.

President Steve Graziano served in place of Mike Springer, who was excused and on vacation; present members listed in the roll call were Ira Johnson, Steve Graziano, Brian Overley, Larry Shawver and Ed White. Committee member Larry Shawver moved to approve the agenda and minutes, Committee member Brian Overley supported the motion, and the board approved it.

The board reviewed all five village parks and determined there were no open or pending actions at this time. Members noted several action steps that have been discussed previously and said those would be taken up in the spring.

The board scheduled a special Parks and Recreation Board meeting for March 9 at 5:00 p.m. at Village Hall to discuss and review a summary of grant applications for converting the "Lions Club Building." The special meeting is intended to provide a focused review of grant proposals related to that potential conversion.

During the public comment period resident Mylisa Francis attended but did not request to speak. With no further remarks, Chair Ira Johnson called for adjournment at 7:43 p.m.; Committee member Larry Shawver moved to adjourn, Committee member Ed White supported the motion, and it was approved.

The board will convene the special meeting on March 9 to consider the grant application summary and next steps regarding the Lions Club Building conversion.
