Oconee County Council acted on a slate of board and commission nominations during its Jan. 21 meeting, approving reappointments and new appointees across several bodies and, after executive session, filling five seats on the Corinth‑Shiloh Special Tax District for Fire Protection Commission.
Planning Commission nominations approved by unanimous vote included reappointing David Nix (District II), appointing Charles Fravel (District IV) and Jake Marcengill (District V), and reappointing Mike Johnson (At‑Large). For the Aeronautics Commission, Council approved Bryan Duncan (District II), reappointed Wayne Rholetter (District IV) and Dan Suddeth (At‑Large), and appointed Casey Whittington (District V). The Parks, Recreation and Tourism Commission saw three At‑Large appointments: Kelli Thomason, Tony Adams and Noah Baker.
Council voted to enter executive session under S.C. Code §30‑4‑70(a) to discuss potential appointments and a contractual matter, entering at 6:21 p.m. and returning at 7:01 p.m. After the closed session, Council appointed five At‑Large members to the Corinth‑Shiloh Special Tax District for Fire Protection Commission—William Howiler, Richard Walton, Monty Marcengill, Joel Wayne Smith and Misty Morris—each nomination approved 5–0.
