Oconee County Council approves consent agenda, awarding multiple procurements and a contract amendment

Oconee County Council approved its Jan. 21 consent agenda, authorizing several procurement awards and an engineering amendment that together were included in the Fiscal Year 2024–2025 budget.

The council voted 5–0 to approve purchase of a 2025 Kenworth T‑880 with roll‑off cable hoist for the Solid Waste Department at $273,431 through Sourcewell Contract No. 032824‑KTC. The council also approved awarding ITB 24‑01 for a detention center sewage screen to Greenstone Construction, LLC of Seneca, S.C., for $441,790 plus a 10% contingency ($44,179), bringing the total award to $485,969; staff said that procurement had been budgeted in FY2024–25.

Council approved Change Order No. 1 to PO 56330 for Linder Industrial Machinery (increase $29,680, total PO $64,420) and authorized payment allocation for Amendment #3 to the Owner‑Engineer Agreement between the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority and Davis & Floyd, Inc., in the amount of $89,313 (amended project cost $513,813). The staff recommendation to approve the consent agenda was moved by Councilmember John Elliott and seconded by Councilmember Glenn Hart; the motion passed unanimously.

According to agenda materials referenced at the meeting, the Kenworth purchase is funded from the county’s Capital Equipment / Vehicle Fund and the conservation of budgeted line items covered the other listed expenditures. Councilmembers discussed placing consent items after attorney/administrator comments on future agendas to allow clarifying questions before final votes.
