At its May 4 meeting the Buford City Commission approved three special-use permit applications addressing automotive services and places of worship.
Rodney Richardson requested SUP-26-05 to allow automotive repair at 5022 B.U. Bowman Drive for Unlimited Tire and Service, LLC. The commission approved the permit with conditions limiting the approval to the current owner, prohibiting outdoor storage and junk vehicles, requiring all repair activities to be performed indoors with proper ventilation, and requiring asphalt or concrete parking for customers.
Sang Hun Lee requested SUP-26-06 for a church at 5106 Bristol Industrial Way, Building B, describing roughly 150 members and a schedule of services. The approval is limited to church use (weekly daycare not approved under this application), requires the applicant to submit main-auditorium seating capacity to verify parking compliance, requires a certificate of occupancy for Assembly (A-3) use prior to services (including fire suppression and egress hardware per the Fire Marshal), and requires ADA-compliant accessible parking and barrier-free access. The permit expires if the church vacates the site, and the applicant must provide written landlord permission to use adjoining parking.
Total Wheel Repair’s SUP-26-07 for automotive customization and vehicle wraps at 906 Gainesville Highway was approved in the applicant’s absence with conditions restricting approval to current owner Braxton & Mack Holdings, LLC; prohibiting outdoor storage and junk vehicles; permitting specified buffer reductions subject to Planning Director approval; and requiring building elevations and compliance with the City of Buford Development Regulations and the Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control in Georgia.
All three motions were approved by unanimous vote (Ayes 3, Nays 0). The Planning Department will verify parking, ADA accessibility, and building/occupancy requirements before issuance of certificates of occupancy or business licenses.
