Fraser board approves $3.77 million in bills, accepts two resignations and votes to meet in closed session

The payments included $3,563,668.90 from the General Fund; $193,177.17 from the Food Service Fund; $10,920.48 from Student/School Activities; $500.00 from Debt Retirement Funds; and $3,750.82 from Capital Projects, for a total of $3,772,017.37. The motion carried unanimously.
Board members also accepted the resignations of Anne Mitchell, Food Service at Emerson Elementary, effective Feb. 24, 2025 (employed since Oct. 14, 2024), and Mediha Rovcanin, teacher at Fraser High School, effective Feb. 28, 2025 (employed since Dec. 2, 2022). The acceptance motion was moved by Robyn Norbeck and supported by Todd Koch and passed without objection.
Robyn Norbeck moved, and Rebecca Jensen supported, to accept and file the district financial report; the board unanimously approved that measure.
Earlier in the meeting the board voted to amend the agenda to add a motion to enter closed session at the end of the regular meeting. At the close of open session, the board adopted a resolution to meet in closed session under the Open Meetings Act, Section 8a, to discuss a personnel matter. The motion to enter closed session was moved by Todd Koch and supported by Robyn Norbeck; roll call recorded Ayes from Kathleen Moco, Robyn Norbeck, Todd Koch, Scott Wallace, Rebecca Jensen and Abigail Wasil and no nays. The board adjourned to closed session at 8:01 p.m. and returned to open session at 9:02 p.m.
The meeting concluded with a motion by Robyn Norbeck, supported by Rebecca Jensen, to adjourn at 9:03 p.m.; the motion carried. The minutes were later approved at the board's April 7, 2025 meeting and filed in the permanent minute book.
Authorities cited in the meeting included the Open Meetings Act, Section 8a, which was referenced when the board moved to closed session.
