City Manager Jonathan Smith told the City of the Village of Clarkston City Council on Jan. 12 that City Clerk Angela Guillen has resigned and that the city is seeking members for the Board of Review. Smith also listed community-event items, noting the Optimist’s Winterfest scheduled for Feb. 6, 2026, and reported that he has a broken ankle and plans to partially work from home.
At a later point in the meeting Mayor Pro Tem Laura Rodgers provided a recap of the 2025 Holiday Market, saying it was a success despite frigid temperatures; the council agreed to continue City sponsorship and Rodgers will assemble a committee to plan the 2026 market. The minutes do not record additional motions or votes on staffing actions, recruitment next steps or committee membership.
The items were recorded as part of the City Manager’s report and a subsequent discussion about the Holiday Market during the Jan. 12 regular meeting.
