Clarkston council authorizes grant applications, approves May race route and cancels Dec. 22 meeting

Councilmember Jones moved and Councilmember Avery supported a resolution authorizing the City Manager to partner with Fleis & Vandenbrink to prepare two 2026 Congressional District Spending (CDS) grant applications; the motion directs that Fleis & Vandenbrink's engineering fees be included in the applications should the grants be approved. The motion carried unanimously: Jones, Quisenberry, Rodgers, Wylie, Avery, Casey and Forte voted yes (7-0).
Councilmember Jones moved and Mayor Pro Tem Rodgers supported a motion to approve the plans for the Angel's Place Race to be held May 9, 2026, through the Village of Clarkston. That motion carried unanimously, 7-0.
Councilmember Jones moved and Councilmember Casey supported a motion to cancel the Dec. 22, 2025 City Council meeting. The motion carried 6-1; Councilmember Forte cast the lone no vote. The meeting later adjourned on a unanimous vote.
