Fraser Board approves personnel moves, honors outgoing member and reorganizes officers

At its Jan. 27 meeting the Fraser Board of Education approved personnel actions including three hires, two retirements and two resignations, and completed its annual reorganization of board officers and committee assignments.
On motions recorded in the minutes, the board approved hires recommended in the Human Resources report: Alison Duncan as an LRE aide at Emerson Elementary (effective Jan. 6, 2025), Katelyn Walkowski as administrative assistant for Dooley Little Learners (effective Jan. 6, 2025), and Nickolas Winkler as a special education teacher at Emerson Elementary (effective Jan. 3, 2025). The board accepted retirements from Julianne Snarski (effective Jan. 31, 2025) and Mary Vodak (effective Dec. 1, 2024), and accepted resignations from Kerry Loranger and Francesco Ragona, both effective Jan. 31, 2025. Each motion was recorded in the minutes as carrying with "Ayes: All."
The board reorganized for 2025 by appointing Scott Wallace as president, Todd Koch as vice president, Robyn Norbeck as treasurer and Kathleen Moco as secretary (motion by Rebecca Jensen, supported by Daniel Stawinski). The board also voted to name members to standing committees for the year; the minutes list committee rosters and indicate several slots are to be determined.
Superintendent Carrie Wozniak and President Scott Wallace presented a plaque recognizing Daniel (Dan) Stawinski for nine years of service to the district.
The minutes record no public comments on personnel matters and note Abigail Wasil as absent at roll call. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
