Board approves $35,289.50 HyFlex instructional system for Region 4 adult education

The Fruitport Community Schools Board on Nov. 17 approved the purchase of a HyFlex instructional cart for the Region 4 Adult Education Program in the amount of $35,289.50, to be paid with Section 107a Innovative Program grant dollars.
The Business & Finance Committee had recommended the purchase after the Region 4 Adult Education Consortium publicly posted an RFP and solicited bids on behalf of six adult education programs across West Michigan. The approved vendor will design, supply, assemble, deliver, install and provide training for the HyFlex system, which the committee said will allow instructors to teach in-person and remote students simultaneously.
Motion (Item 25-137) to approve the purchase was made by JB Meeuwenberg and seconded by Kris Cole; minutes record the motion as carried 6-0 with one absence (Kelly).
