The Bettendorf City Council unanimously approved a resolution June 29 authorizing the director of parks and recreation to issue a purchase order to J&M Displays for $37,500 to provide fireworks for the city’s Fourth of July celebration.
Councilmember Baitton moved to approve the resolution and it was seconded; the clerk conducted a roll call and the motion passed unanimously. Michelle (the clerk) recorded the votes.
The action came at the start of a two-part special meeting; after completing the vote the council adjourned the first portion and reconvened as a committee of the whole to consider a separate agenda item on annexation. No further discussion of the fireworks contract was recorded.
