Trustees review March finances; HVAC bid exceeds expectations and table donation approved

The Dickinson Memorial Library Board of Trustees reviewed March financial reports and acted on two routine motions at its April 9, 2026 meeting.
The treasurer reported March expenditures across accounts: State account March expenditures $528.03 (current balance $17,650.53), Gift Fund expenditures $759.06 with a balance of $8,143.95 (the gift fund expense included electric from a food pantry donation), and payroll for pay period 20 of $6,140.46. The Town appropriation report listed line items including fuel, materials, and telephone with FY26 balances and budget figures presented to trustees.
Trustee Misha Storm said the library received only one bid for the planned HVAC project and that the bid was above the board’s expectations. Storm said she will ask the bidder to submit an alternate proposal using different brands because the originally requested Mitsubishi option is likely to be the highest-priced. That inquiry was recorded as next steps; trustees did not adopt a contract at the meeting.
Separately, trustees approved donating a refinished table to the Deerfield Valley Artists' Association after determining the piece will not be used in local public buildings such as Town Hall or the Historical Society. Trustee Deb Potee moved the donation and Trustee Nolan Kitfield seconded; the motion was unanimously approved.
Trustees also approved the March minutes (motion by Trustee Peter Weis, seconded by Trustee Alex Strysky), with a signed copy to be submitted to the Town by Misha Storm. The meeting adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
