At its June 30 special meeting the Warren Town Council moved through several consent and routine items.
The council read and adopted a proclamation recognizing the 250th anniversary of the United States and marking July 3, 2026 as 'America 250 and 250 years of postal service day in Warren.' The proclamation noted Warren’s post office was among the early post offices in the nation and included council members’ names to be added to the document.
The Department of Public Works requested authorization to buy a Kubota zero-turn mower (72-inch deck) through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing agreement. The meeting record lists the amount as '21,55410' (format ambiguous); the council moved and approved the purchase as presented.
Council also approved a request to use Warrentown Beach for free yoga on Wednesday evenings through late August; the agenda listed Aug. 25 while the application listed Aug. 26, and the council approved the date matching the application (Aug. 26).
Finally, the police chief requested permission to overspend the police general and office expense account (01-5400-02010) by $10,000, to be offset by transfers from the wages and salaries union account (01-5400-00001020). The council approved the transfer by motion and voice vote.
All items were approved by voice votes during the meeting; no further dates or follow-up reports were specified in the record for the mower purchase or the yoga permit.
