The Bartlett City Board of Education on Jan. 23 recognized several student-athlete teams and their coaches for recent accomplishments.
The girls' golf team finished the season 51-8, won the Hardin County Invitational for a second consecutive year, were district and regional champions (defeating Houston), and were one of eight teams advancing to state. Two seniors were noted as continuing their collegiate careers: Katie Francis and Erin Porter. The boys' golf program was recognized for Andersen House's 21st-place finish at the state tournament and his commitment to Roane State; coaches Kevin Hill and Kayla Jones received certificates.
Bartlett's girls' cross country team recorded a 14th-place finish at the state championship, the program's best since 2004. Kaley Byrd set a Bartlett school record with a 19:05 5K in her final cross-country season. Freshmen Naomi Horn and Abriella Trammell posted the two fastest freshman times in school history. William McCollough and Barrett Gaylord were highlighted for the boys' team; both qualified for the state meet and posted season personal bests.
The board presented certificates to the teams and coaching staffs in recognition of their seasons.
