Councilmember Porter urges caution on Hebron Elementary acquisition; public feedback meeting set

Councilmember Annelle Porter used her council report on May 8 to express concern about the potential acquisition of the Hebron Elementary School property, saying she wants the engineer’s report as soon as possible and that the Village should be “very diligent” in its approach. Porter said she is not in favor of the acquisition at this time.
Councilmember Stacy Stoner responded that the time engineers are taking suggests they are performing due diligence. Council President Randy Wolf noted a public feedback meeting on May 15 at 6:00 p.m. and said there will be further discussion when the engineer’s report is returned to council.
Separately, councilmembers reviewed expenses and Councilmember Kenney Nauer asked about an expense for a trailer purchase, asking whether newly purchased items could be stored inside existing buildings. The clerk and staff announced the schedule of upcoming meetings, including the May 15 Building Feedback Opportunity and a June 12 public hearing for Planning & Zoning rezone recommendations.
Next steps: a public feedback meeting is scheduled for May 15 at 6:00 p.m.; the council will review the engineer’s report on the Hebron Elementary property when it is returned.
