Staff recommended awarding a construction-services agreement to Magnum Contracting LLC for the Longstreet Recreation Area project with a contract sum of $2,058,295 and a county contingency of $155,000; staff said the project leverages a $600,000 Georgia Outdoor Stewardship grant and other local funding. Other agenda items included right-of-way acquisition consulting for Technology Bridge Parkway, a $75,000 design contract for an intersection improvement near Massabille Elementary, and draft condemnation resolutions for parts of the Dupree Road improvement project (staff said remaining parcels are held by a single owner and condemnation may be required).
Commissioners asked standard clarifying questions about buyer type for the land sale and project timing for condemnation and design packages; staff said closings and bids were anticipated in coming months. No final votes were recorded in the work session; items were set to appear on the consent or regular agendas for board action.
