Davis reported New York’s 2025 totals as 227,032 deer taken statewide: 120,989 bucks and 106,123 does. He said Livingston County led the GLOW (Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming) region with 6,742 deer taken. He added that the DEC is encouraging measures to increase doe harvest—stating an interest in requiring the take of a doe before issuing additional buck tags—and described the county board’s difficulty recruiting new board members. Davis also urged faster insurance company responses to loss payments to avoid delaying claimant relief.
