Jonesboro officials report leak repairs, lawn work and high emergency call volumes

Warren B., representing Public Works, told the board the town has corrected over 26 water leaks since June and that the lawn crew is working to get ahead of tall grass areas. Alderman James Ginn raised a specific concern about a continuing leak near South Polk.
Chief Blalock said the fire department had experienced a high volume of calls during the reporting period; the minutes do not include a numerical breakdown or requests for additional staffing or resources. Assistant Chief Warren Johnson reported that the police department responded to more than 270 calls for the month.
Aldermen offered brief closing remarks thanking attendees and encouraging continued community engagement. The meeting adjourned after those remarks.
