Stockbridge council adopts 2026–27 budget, approves contracts and multiple appointments

The Village of Stockbridge council adopted the fiscal year 2026–27 general appropriations act on Feb. 19, approving the budget that ends Feb. 28, 2027, and a slate of related contracts and appointments.
President Ogden moved to adopt the resolution establishing the general appropriations act (Resolution No. 2026-02-19.000) and Morehouse supported the motion; the roll call recorded unanimous ayes and the resolution passed. The adoption followed a statutorily required public hearing at which Woodhill presented the proposed budget and no members of the public spoke.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved a motion to pay outstanding bills totaling $157,981.69. Council also approved Resolution No. 2026-02-19.001 to accept an MDOT Category B contract as written, approved the SDDA 2026–27 budget, and voted to accept McKenna’s proposal for a Parks and Recreation master plan. The council approved an auction agreement with Biddergy.com.
The meeting included a set of appointments: President Ogden moved to appoint Merideth McManaman and Logan Connolly to the Village Council; both appointments were approved by voice vote. Ogden also moved to appoint James Pat Turner and Amanda Hahn to the Planning Commission; the vote on Hahn recorded one nay from Morehouse but both were confirmed. Brandon Devine was appointed to the SDDA. The council approved a February 2026 police contract with the township with a recommendation to fine-tune the contract language.
Village Manager Heather Armstrong reported that The Woodhill Group is changing water meters and that staff is preparing an asset-management plan tied to a USDA loan; she said there had been no response yet on a grant application for new meters. No dollar amounts for the adopted budget were stated on the meeting record beyond the bills payable total; the resolution establishes the appropriation framework through Feb. 28, 2027.
The council recessed to other business after completing the votes; the meeting adjourned at 8:59 p.m.
