The Luna Pier City Council voted unanimously Feb. 12 to award a $75,149 contract to Green Improvement LLC to replace the roof on the city Fire Hall and authorized the use of reserve funds to pay for the work.
Neil Wakeman moved to approve the bid, and Councilmember Duy Hoang supported the motion. Both the award and the separate motion to use reserve funds carried on roll-call votes with all members present voting in favor.
Council also considered repairs to bathrooms at the Luna Pier Lighthouse but tabled authorization to use reserve funds for that work. Councilmember Joy Perry moved, supported by Amanda Neiding, to delay use of reserve funds until updated repair quotes are received and the council can confirm reserve balances; the motion carried unanimously.
The vote follows routine department and committee reports and reflects council prioritization of the Fire Hall roof as a capital repair. The city did not specify a contractor start date in the meeting or a projected completion date for the roof work.
