Jonesboro aldermen approve routine business, hear department reports

The Town of Jonesboro Board of Aldermen approved routine business at its Nov. 25, 2024 meeting. Alderman James Ginn moved to approve the agenda; the motion was seconded by a board member identified as Evans and carried with all in favor. Ginn also moved to approve minutes for Oct. 8 and Oct. 31, 2024, a motion seconded by Evans and carried.
Alderman Nia Johnson moved to approve the September 2024 financials; Alderman James Ginn seconded and the motion passed. Alderman Robbie Siadek moved to table approval of the October 2024 financials; Evans seconded and the motion to table was carried.
Department reports were brief. Compliance Officer Austin Ballott III presented the Compliance Activity Register to the council. Assistant Director Wanen Bradley of Public Works reported the department had completed additional water leak repairs and was completing Christmas lights. Police and Fire departments were listed as absent in the meeting record.
The board approved department head reports on a motion by Evans, seconded by Siadek. Council members offered holiday greetings; Mayor James "Spike" Harris urged residents to be safe over the holidays. The meeting adjourned on a motion by Evans, seconded by Siadek.
