Vinton council approves slate of beer, liquor and wrecker permits and adopts 2025 floating holidays

The Town of Vinton council unanimously approved a package of retail permits and personnel holidays during its Dec. 19 meeting at City Hall.
Council Member Lindsey Stanley moved to approve multiple Class A and Class B beer and liquor permits for local establishments, including Glenn Floyd Cormier’s Glenn’s Mart Grill & Deli and Cajun Cowboy’s, Hein Nguyen’s Circle A Mini Mart, GPM Southeast LLC’s EZ-Mart #4296, Ibrahim Swati’s Tiger Mart #12, Casey Courville’s B & B Bar, Market Basket #26, Family Dollar and Love’s Casino (ALYCO, LLC). Council Member Michael Wright and Council Member Diane Conner seconded individual motions; the minutes state each motion “carried.”
The council also approved a wrecker permit for Ernest L. Breaux of Breaux’s Wrecker Service.
In a personnel action, Council Member Diane Conner moved to adopt floating holidays for Administration and Public Works employees for 2025: a half day Jan. 17 (day before Martin Luther King Jr. Day), a half day May 23 (Friday before Memorial Day), Nov. 28 (day after Thanksgiving) and Dec. 26 (day after Christmas). Council Member Lindsey Stanley seconded the motion and it carried.
The meeting record shows the council approved payment of the town’s November 2024 bills totaling $211,300.10 and approved the minutes of prior meetings; both actions were moved by Council Member Stanley and recorded as carried.
The meeting adjourned after the listed business was completed.
