Vivian aldermen adjust condemnation list, continue multiple property reviews

Officer Bobby Smith presented a series of property reports and recommendations. The board approved continuing the condemnation review of 421 E. Texas Ave. to the Feb. 9 meeting at Officer Smith's recommendation. Smith and a property representative reported progress at 1104 Crow St., and the board voted to remove that property from the condemnation list. Smith recommended placing 305 E. Texas Ave. on the condemnation list; the board approved that recommendation. A mobile‑home variance application for 309 Camp Vivian St. was acknowledged and will appear on the Feb. 9 agenda for consideration. The matter for 304 E. Oklahoma Ave. was reported as "on hold."
For 308 W. Moore St. property owner Robert Kovacs of Bossier City reported continued improvements; following discussion the board agreed to continue review of that property to the March 9, 2026 regular meeting.
All zoning and condemnation motions recorded in the minutes were approved by voice vote of the aldermen present; movers and seconders are recorded in the meeting minutes for each motion.
