The Town of Vivian Board of Aldermen on Jan. 12 approved promotion and hiring recommendations from Police Chief Ryan Nelson.
Chief Nelson recommended promoting Patrolman Joshua McCauley to the rank of corporal, citing McCauley's years with the department (hire date June 10, 2013), his service as fleet manager, and that he will become the department's community liaison. Following Chief Nelson's recommendation, Samuel Hodge moved to promote McCauley and Raymond Williams seconded; all present approved the motion.
Chief Nelson also introduced Christian Hill and recommended hiring him as a part‑time patrolman at $14.00 per hour. Samuel Hodge moved to approve the hire and Raymond Williams seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
No additional conditions or disciplinary actions were recorded; both personnel items were approved by unanimous voice vote of the aldermen present.
