Andy Weiglein, representing NFDL Youth Sports, asked the Board of Trustees April 21 to consider assisting with improvements to the west diamond at Village Park, presenting drawings and saying the engineered plans will cost $6,000. Administrator Nick Leonard told the Board the item will be placed on the next meeting agenda for further discussion.
During the same meeting the Board approved a six-month Class B fermented malt beverage and intoxicating liquor license for NFDL Youth Sports, with Andrew Weiglein listed as agent and the premises at 234 Winnebago Street. Trustee Chuck Hornung moved the license approval and Trustee John Duffy seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
The consent agenda earlier in the meeting also approved two operator licenses (Suzanne Wilderman and Joseph Keys) and routine items including the April 7, 2025 minutes and authorization of invoices; Trustee Mike Will moved that consent agenda and Trustee John Duffy seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
The Board did not take a final funding decision on the dugout request at this meeting; Leonard indicated the topic will return for formal discussion and potential budgetary consideration at a future meeting.
