Town Accountant Jocelyn Seeliger reported to attendees at the Town of Minocqua annual meeting on April 23, 2026, that the town closed 2025 with a general fund balance of $546,000, an increase of $80,000 from the previous year, and outstanding debt of $8.7 million. Seeliger said the town's debt capacity is $171 million and that the town was using roughly 5% of that capacity.
Seeliger reviewed department-level budget variances for 2025 and took questions from the audience. Audience member Lori Nixon requested that a copy of the town's balance sheet also be made available at future annual meetings; Chairman Mark Hartzheim acknowledged the request during the question period.
The accounting report provided an overview of the town's fiscal position but did not include detailed line-item figures in the meeting record. The town approved a separate motion during the meeting to increase elected-official salaries; that action will take effect after the April 2027 election.
The meeting set the next annual meeting for April 23, 2027, at 5:00 p.m., and adjourned at 5:26 p.m.
