Committee members reviewed the park logo and agreed that some elements might not reflect West Stockbridge or the park’s purpose; they authorized one consolidated round of feedback and asked Melanie Thibeault to collect and forward the input to the designer. The committee said additional designs may be considered for promotional materials, but the official logo process will continue through the current design unless the group decides otherwise.
Members discussed establishing nonprofit email infrastructure through Google Workspace and Google’s nonprofit program. Although the nonprofit application was approved by Google, technical issues remain; Jana Sax and Melanie Thibeault are working to resolve them. The committee agreed to add brick-campaign information and updated language about farmers market donations and event dates to the website and to rename the Facebook page to reflect the broader community organization.
Renee McCormick presented outreach ideas to involve local youth through internships, volunteer roles, and community-service opportunities; outreach has begun with Berkshire Community College and the committee discussed contacting Greenagers, Railroad Street Youth Project, and Monument Mountain High School. The committee agreed to revisit the topic at its next meeting and asked members to contribute ideas to a shared document in advance.
The group discussed plans for an informal, symbolic groundbreaking with a brief photo opportunity and potential press coverage; invitations will go to Planning Board and Selectboard members. A formal ribbon-cutting will be scheduled for the park’s full opening later in the year. The committee set its next meeting for June 21 at 10:00 a.m.
