Beecher reports progress and inspections at new Public Safety Facility; former station prepped for sale

Public Works Superintendent Matt Conner updated the Board that HVAC issues at the new Public Safety Facility have been addressed and “appear to be resolved,” and that a roof leak identified earlier has been repaired. Conner said fence gate motors are on order and were scheduled for installation on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, and that electrical floor box and ceiling drywall repairs were scheduled for completion the same day. JMA had been contacted regarding ongoing roof concerns and an inspection by that firm was scheduled for Sept. 24, 2025.
Trustee Kraus asked whether a third‑party inspector should be engaged to evaluate the new Police Department; the question remained open for further consideration. President Meyer said the monument at the former Police Department on Penfield would be removed the following week and that a new directional sign for the current Police Department will be installed at Route 1 and Church Road near the CVS. The old business sign at that intersection will be removed.
The Village is preparing the former Police Department building for sale: exterior signage has been removed and the Village is awaiting an appraisal report. No sale timeline or appraisal amount was provided in the minutes.
Next steps: scheduled repairs and an inspection were set for Sept. 24, 2025. Trustees discussed the possible engagement of a third‑party inspector; no formal vote was taken at the Sept. 22 meeting.
