Beecher board directs attorney to draft special-use ordinance for 993 Dixie Highway play facility

At the Sept. 8 Village Board meeting Trustee Stacey moved, and Trustee Smith seconded, to direct the Village Attorney to draft an ordinance granting a special-use permit in the B‑3 district for a daycare/indoor play facility at 993 Dixie Highway. The Planning and Zoning Commission had unanimously recommended approving the special use.
The minutes state the facility opened in April 2025 as an indoor children’s play facility and private party room; the change of use requires a Village special-use permit and licensing from the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The motion to direct the attorney to prepare the ordinance carried unanimously (6–0).
No detailed conditions of the proposed special use were recorded in the minutes; the Board will consider the drafted ordinance at a future meeting.
