The Bridgman City Council on June 8 adopted the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, approving $8,804,924 in total expenses and setting the city millage rate at 13.8499. The council voted unanimously after holding a public hearing that drew no public comment.
City Manager Lambrix presented the budget as projecting an estimated fund balance of about $1.3 million and General Fund reserves of approximately 48 percent. The proposed spending plan includes about $230,000 in capital project investments intended to support infrastructure and community needs. Lambrix thanked staff for their assistance preparing the budget.
Council members removed several items from the consent agenda for separate consideration before approving the remaining consent items, which included the budget adoption. The millage and budget adoption were recorded as part of Consent Item 8J and carried on a unanimous vote.
The budget takes effect July 1, 2026. Council did not receive any public comments during the budget hearing. The adoption completes the city's routine annual budget process; the council did not direct additional amendments at the June 8 meeting.
