Friends group plans logo contest, merchandise and volunteer outreach; $214 expense under review

Ms. Sax and others described different fundraising and volunteer roles: the advisory committee will host a volunteer information session and the Friends nonprofit will continue to recruit people with specific skills. Melanie Thibeault suggested inviting volunteers to a spring event to meet organizers. The committee discussed recruiting Monument Mountain Regional High School students and contacting Railroad Street Youth Project as potential partners.
Michael Bolognino reported a $214 additional expense for Berkshire Design Group’s extra time attending select board meetings. Committee members discussed whether the Stanton grant, a CPA grant, or the Friends group should cover the cost; Bolognino said Marie Ryan is providing documentation about two expenses paid from committee funds to clarify who requested them.
The committee agreed to continue volunteer outreach and to coordinate fundraising responsibilities between the advisory committee and the Friends group to avoid duplication.
