A trail representative reported to the Sawyer County Board that UTV and ATV activity is strong this spring and that local businesses are seeing increased traffic.
The speaker thanked LCO and the county board and ad hoc committee for opening County Road CC and several connector spokes, noting the current open season (May 1–Oct 31) and hours (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). The representative said clubs have placed new trail counters at locations with higher UTV/ATV traffic (rather than snowmobile locations) to gather usage data. The North Country Riders club has been revamped and will add events and rides this season.
The board thanked the volunteers and clubs for their work maintaining and promoting trails. The representative said they will keep working with the ad hoc committee on any changes to opening schedules and will continue to report counts and club activity to the board.
