A representative of the Sawyer County Economic Development Corporation updated the board on outreach and organizational changes, saying he is about six weeks into the role and working on outreach, branding and grant implementation.
The representative said the organization has filed a DBA to operate as "Sawyer County EDC" while larger incorporation changes await finalization tied to grant paperwork. He told the board that he had signed the Thrive grant contract and was waiting for it to be countersigned, which will allow subsequent incorporation paperwork and formal launch activities.
He described meetings across the region with partners, work on new logos and a website, and plans to engage stakeholders as the EDC transitions. Board members responded with supportive comments and asked follow‑up questions about outreach and timing.
The representative said he will report back to the board on the EDC's next steps after the grant contract is fully executed.
