For Birchwood and Cornelius sidewalks, members said staff (Laura) may send targeted mailings and schedule small meetings with affected homeowners so engineers can review yard impacts and gather feedback before bids are issued.
On school zones, members confirmed existing 20 mph signage at some schools (Hillside, Van Antwerp and others), noted missing signs on at least one approach to a middle school and flagged Rosenale Road and Union/Rosenale intersections for priority study. The committee agreed to consider a subcommittee for school‑zone work and to coordinate with the police department on data and enforcement.
Members asked staff to add comp‑plan project numbers and to circulate color copies of maps and traffic data so the committee can prioritize projects and pursue grant or funding opportunities where appropriate.
