The Town of Cromwell Community Events Committee used its May 7 meeting to advance several festival-planning items, including stage programming, vendor registration, publicity, t-shirt sales, and volunteer recruitment.
Karen Ambler said advisors from Cromwell High School are working on a band festival component and run-of-show planning is continuing. Rosanna Glynn reported the number of merchandise and food vendors who have signed up and relayed a concern from the town health department that vendors be using the correct health-department forms; the committee confirmed a wellness tent will be part of the festival layout.
On publicity, Chairperson Steve Wygonowski presented sample banners and the committee encouraged the Publicity team to produce the banners in time for the Memorial Day Parade. Members asked Shannon (of the Publicity team) to be provided with content for lawn signs. Merchandise updates included Barbara Lesi’s note that two t-shirts have sold so far.
The committee discussed coverage at Family Fun Night on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and the need to recruit a volunteer coordinator. Members agreed to develop a fillable online volunteer application and recruit volunteers through the committee website and Facebook, collecting volunteer interests throughout the summer.
Several administrative and procurement reminders were given: Treasurer Barbara Lesi advised that the credit card must remain in the town finance office and purchases with the card must be processed through that office. She also provided the name and address to list on contracts: Anthony Salvatore, Town Manager, 41 West Street, Cromwell, CT 06416.
The committee set its next meeting for May 21, 2026.
