Beaufort County School District announced that its Parents as Teachers program has been named a Blue Ribbon affiliate, the organization’s highest honor for fidelity and quality. District staff said the honor reflects the partnership between parent educators and families and the program’s focus on school readiness.
Board members recognized Parent Educators by name in public celebration and said the program will be formally honored at the Parents as Teachers International Conference in October 2026 in Portland, Oregon. The board also recognized multiple students of the month from Northern and Southern Beaufort County schools and heard short principal introductions spotlighting nominees.
District staff described the program as delivering home visitation services and early-intervention supports that strengthen early literacy and child development. Board materials and staff presentations highlighted the program’s role in preparing children for kindergarten and noted it has been honored multiple times.
