Abbot Public Library to restore full service hours, Marblehead pickup and hires new Head of Public Service

Director Kimberly Grad reported the library will resume full-service hours on July 10, restart programs on July 15 and restore Marblehead as a pick-up location on July 8. Grad also announced the appointment of Jane Wolff as the new Head of Public Service; Wolff will begin on July 22 and joins Abbot Public Library from the Hamilton‑Wenham Public Library, bringing experience in circulation, archival work, adult fiction collection development and programming, and a master’s in social work.
The board discussed next steps for programming and website updates tied to the Carten Gallery and Thompson Makerspace. Grad said she will present details on proposed staff scholarships to attend the ALSC annual meeting in Philadelphia and the board will review specific costs prior to approving staff attendance.
