"Our sweet baby Reagan was the epitome of love and kindness," the speaker said, adding that the pink lights, a memorial bench and community events such as the Run for Reagan and a kindness award at Martin Kellogg Middle School have helped the family through their grief.
The family asked the town to continue acts of kindness and noted Reagan’s one‑year anniversary is Aug. 9. The council and audience responded with expressions of support and the mayor and several councilors reiterated the town’s commitment to the family’s requests.
The proclamation was adopted during the meeting; council business continued with the public participation portion of the agenda following the vote.
