The Holland City Council accepted the fiscal year 2026 strategic and business plan final report at its July 1 meeting, receiving a year-end presentation from the administration that summarized financial, programmatic and capital accomplishments.
City staff highlighted efforts to maintain balanced budgets with long-term forecasting, a change to the city health insurance pool that reduced rates, actions to address an unfunded pension liability, and an $11,250,000 grant supporting waterfront work. Staff also cited progress on affordable-housing initiatives (including Vista Green), Holland City Fiber buildout, completed union negotiations, and substantial community engagement activities.
Councilmembers thanked staff for the process that yields the plan and noted community programs, including a parks planting program that engaged residents and volunteers. The council moved to accept the report, and the motion carried by voice vote.
Staff said quarterly reporting and the final report are available on the council web page; council indicated continued attention to infrastructure investment, bike/ped networks, and monitoring implementation of priorities in the new fiscal year.
