Staff said the project has been under committee review for about 15 months and ‘‘checked all the boxes’’ in the committee’s evaluation. Council approval is a formal step that allows staff and the developer to finalize documents; staff emphasized there will be no release of funds until closing and all required agreements are executed.
The motion was moved by Councilmember Shane and seconded by Councilmember Zeke and passed unanimously. Staff said more detailed funding documents and a resolution will return to council before funds are disbursed.
Why it matters: The assistance supports an affordable housing project in the city core intended to add housing options; final terms, timing and any deed restrictions will be presented to council with the closing documents.
