The Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors used its Sept. 12 special meeting to authorize several routine items. Chairman Roger Meckes moved and Supervisor James Denier seconded approval of the Jim Thorpe Cross Country Elementary XC Fun Run set for Oct. 13, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m., with an estimated 75–100 runners; the motion passed by roll call of the three supervisors present (Meckes, Bartulovich and Denier), with two supervisors absent.
The board also approved the purchase of three tires and one spare with rim for the township utility trailer from Synder Tires at a total cost of $424.07. That motion was made by Chairman Meckes and seconded by Supervisor Christian Bartulovich; roll call approved the purchase.
Separately, the board agreed to change the Park Committee meeting date so committee members can attend the school-district meeting about athletic fees and voted to advertise a new Park & Recreation meeting date of Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024. The meeting minutes record no public comment and no further financial commitments tied to the event or scheduling changes.
The meeting lasted about 15 minutes; the board adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
